Client Experiences:
I am incredibly grateful for my sessions with Sondra; her compassion and insightful guidance have coaxed me out of the box I felt I was stuck in. Her caring approach created a safe space where I feel truly heard and valued. With empathy and understanding Sondra has not only helped me work through my feelings but also fostered a deep sense of trust and connection.
I cannot express how transformative and rewarding my experience with Sondra was. Her understanding and insights helped me find clarity when I needed it most. She provided a safe, non-judgmental space where I felt heard and understood. Sondra’s solution-oriented style was extremely impactful in prompting meaningful change in my life. I wholeheartedly recommend Sondra to anyone seeking help— I will always cherish the positive impact she had on my life.
There are not sufficient words to capture how impactful and life giving my therapeutic relationship with Sondra has been. She has a holistic approach that makes you feel clearly and compassionately seen, heard, and understood. She is a remarkably empathic and tuned-in listener. Her insightful questions facilitate honest reflection and support the ongoing process of self discovery. Sondra is everything a therapist ought to be and she has made a tremendous difference in my life -- for which I am VERY grateful.
I participated in Sondra’s support group for autistic women, and it was a wonderfully affirming experience. Sondra suggested topics and provided guardrails to keep us focused, but group participants were able to move the conversation to areas we most wanted to explore. I felt able to be absolutely and wholly myself, which is a rare experience, and I learned a lot from other participants as they shared their challenges and how they manage them.

ABOUT ME
Being a therapist has always been my calling. My intuitive style is based on a lifetime of experiences that have provided me with a deep sensitivity to the complexities of relationships, life transitions, losses, and the need for belonging. Since 2007, I have been in solo private practice working with adults, adolescents and children to cultivate their best selves. Currently, I specialize in working with adult women dealing with the vast emotional challenges that come with the difficulties of everyday life.
I received my Master of Social Work at the University of Michigan and completed my clinical internship on campus at The University Center for the Child and Family under intensive supervision and schooling. My career started with extensive training through the Washington School of Psychiatry in Washington, DC and led to a lifeime of learning and teaching. After experience in multiple settings including the juvenile court system, non-profits, and private schools, I spent a decade working as a social worker in Montgomery County and Fairfax County Public Schools until I opened my own private practice.
I provide trainings and consultation to mental health professionals. Past presentations and trainings have been offered at Children's National Hospital, George Washington University, Fairfax County Public Schools, and local psychotherapy practices. I am available to mental health professionals for speaking engagements on best practices for working with Autistic adults and professional case consultation.
My professional memberships include the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), The Washington Society of Psychoanalytic Psychology, Neurodivergent Insights, Integrative Case Consultation, and DMV Autism Consultation Group.
Outside of work, I embody the worlds of wife, mother, and friend. In my free time I like to be outside with my dog, hike, run, and throw pottery.
